The prices listed reflect routine care. Costs may be higher where a condition requires more complex investigations or treatment. We will explain the recommended care, discuss the available options and provide a written estimate for the proposed investigations or treatment before proceeding.
If your pet’s treatment needs change, we will discuss any proposed changes and their effect on the estimated cost, provide an updated written estimate where appropriate, and seek your agreement before proceeding with additional treatment.
Prescriptions & Your Right to Choose
You are under no obligation to purchase your pet's medication directly from our practice. While we maintain a fully stocked pharmacy for your convenience, you have the right to request a written prescription to source these medications from a registered online pharmacy.
Please note the following important details regarding prescriptions:

Prescription Fees: We charge a standard fee of £20 for issuing a single written prescription. If your pet requires multiple long-term medications, any additional prescriptions issued at the same time will be charged at a reduced rate of £12.50 each.

Clinical Assessment: A vet can only prescribe medications for an animal officially registered as being under their care. To comply with UK regulations, your pet must undergo a routine clinical assessment before we can issue or repeat a prescription. The standard fee for this re-examination is £52.50.

Frequency of Checks: The necessary interval between clinical assessments is decided by the veterinary surgeon based on your pet's specific medical condition, but it will typically occur every 3-12 months.

Validity: A standard veterinary prescription is valid for a maximum of 6 months from the date of issue (or 28 days if it is for a Controlled Drug).
Please note: Under the UK Veterinary Medicines Regulations, it is a criminal offence to alter, copy, or tamper with a written prescription. Any suspected fraudulent prescriptions will be reported immediately to the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD).
